Location

Spain, one of the most favorable destinations for travel and known for its warmth, rich culture, history, food, coasts, nature, wines, bullfighting, festivals and hospitality is situated on the Iberian Peninsula. The country borders with France, Portugal, Gibraltar and Andorra. The country also shares it borders with Morocco. Spain also has an unending coastline, white washed villages, preserved medieval towns, a developed metropolis life as well as modern urban centers.

Air Travel

Astonishingly, Spain has more direct flights than any other country that is favorable for travel. Air Iberia, the national airline of Spain offers nonstop services in most of the Spanish cities.

Entry Requirements

If you are an international traveler to Spain, you will require a valid passport to enter into the country. Validity of the passport for a minimum of three months from the date of travel to Spain is a must. However, if you are a resident of the United States, New Zealand, Canada, United Kingdom or Australia, you would not require any passport for your travel up to 90 days. If you are a US resident, you're also allowed to participate in business-related activities. In order to extend your travel time in Spain, you must apply for a visa so that you do not have to face the legal problems during the trip.

Considerations

Fall and spring are considered to be the best time to travel to Spain. There are two reasons behind the same. Firstly, the crowds during the seasons are extremely manageable and secondly, the weather during spring and fall is extremely comfortable. In case you want to travel to Spain when it is least crowded, you must do so in the months between May and October. During the months between May and October, you'll get plenty of time to shop around and get some great promotional discount offers.

Language

Castellano (better known as Castilian Spanish) is the main language spoken in Spain. So if you're planning your vacation in Spain, it is recommended that you learn a few words and phrases in this language so that you can communicate better with locals. In major cities, you may find non-Spanish speakers also but if you planned to experience Spain inside-out, you must learn a bit of Castilian Spanish.

Currency

Although the official currency of Spain is Euro, travelers who have not converted their currency for making it to Spain can use traveler's check or so. Alternatively, there are a number of ATMs in Spain which can be used as per the convenience. However, if you're using ATMs in Spain, make sure that you do not exceed a day’s limit otherwise you will end up paying extra fee.

Great Places to Visit

You'll be dazed by the beauty of Catalan capital Barcelona. Also don't forget to visit Seville for bullfighting and flamenco. Valencia, one of the most important Spanish tourist destination and the great city of Bilbao should also not be missed.
